The University of South Florida women's tennis team battled throughout the lineup Saturday morning at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts but ultimately fell 4-2 to Florida Atlantic University.

The Bulls opened the match with strong doubles play, securing the early point with victories on courts one and three. Amelie Drukerova and Josefine Falster set the tone with a 6-2 win at the top spot, while Francesca Miglio and Melisa Senli followed with a 6-3 decision on court three to clinch the doubles advantage for South Florida.

In singles, Josefine Falster delivered a dominant performance at the No. 3 position, cruising to a 6-0, 6-2 win to give the Bulls a key point and maintain momentum early in singles play.

Florida Atlantic responded by claiming four singles matches to secure the team victory. Margherita Marcon pushed her match to three sets at No. 2 singles, rallying to take the second set 7-5 before ultimately falling 6-3 in the third. Francesca Miglio also battled in a tightly contested three-set match at No. 4, forcing a decisive third set after earning a 7-5 second-set win. Loana Vargas fought hard at No. 6 singles, taking the opening set 6-1 before FAU mounted a comeback in the final two sets.

The Bulls showed resilience across the courts, highlighted by their doubles point and Falster's commanding singles win. South Florida will look to build on the competitive effort as they prepare for more conference play.
