Woody needs your help!

January 21st 2026, the day Luke’s life turned upside down. His doctor told him he had a brain tumour and needed urgent surgery!

Luke Woodcock, or Woody as he’s affectionately known, is a much-loved dad, partner, son, brother, brother-in-law, and friend.

Many will know Woody through cricket and sport in Wellington. A former Black Cap, longstanding Wellington Firebird legend and JCC life member, Woody has given decades to the game as a Firebird and part of the coaching team with the Wellington Blaze, and more recently having taken up a role at Wellington College. He is widely respected for the way he supports athletes, builds culture, and gives back to the sport and community he cares deeply about.

Woody had major neurosurgery two weeks ago and the surgeon was unable to remove all the tumour. He now requires lengthy chemotherapy and radiotherapy, as well as further costly treatments that are not available in New Zealand. Without these treatments he's been given 14-18months.

This diagnosis has come as a huge shock to Luke and to those close to him.

Luke is deeply supported by his partner Jacqui, his family, friends and teammates. His children, Jackson and Ruby remain a huge source of motivation as he focuses on his extensive treatments and recovery.

Luke is a fighter, but he Jacqui, Jackson and Ruby desperately need your help.

This Page has been setup to help fund his treatment and help with everyday financial pressures! Thank you in advance for any donations or sharing of this page.
