Canada's Victoria Mboko is onto the Adelaide International women's tennis final.

The 19-year-old from Toronto defeated Australia's Kimberly Birrell 6-2, 6-1 in the semifinals on Friday to advance.

Mboko fired eight aces and had three double faults in the tune-up tournament ahead of the Australian Open.

She also broke on five of her seven chances and won 80 per cent of her first-serve points.

Birrell was held without an ace and a break point in the match.

The eighth-seeded Mboko will next face third-seeded Russian Mirra Andreeva on Saturday.

Mboko is set to make her debut at the Australian Open later this month after a breakout 2025 season on the WTA Tour.

She was named the WTA Newcomer of the Year after winning the National Bank Open in Montreal and raising her ranking from No. 333 at the start of the season to No. 18 at the end.
