Gades hit the mark with Archer signing

Following the unavailability of Adam Zampa, who’s been managed by Cricket Australia ahead of Australia’s upcoming T20 World Cup campaign, Archer has been sworn in as the Renegades prepare to face the Strikers at the Adelaide Oval in their final game of BBL|15.

A product of the club’s Academy, Archer injects another genuine spin option after honing his craft at training under the nose of coach Cameron White throughout the BBL|15 campaign, as well as for the club’s Academy in the recent Top End T20 Series in Darwin and Melbourne T10 Invitational where he claimed a hat-trick.

"I’m really grateful for the opportunity to come into the Renegades squad, I’ve loved being around the group this season and have learned a lot,” Archer said.

“If the chance comes on Saturday, I’ll be ready to take it.”

Renegades General Manager, James Rosengarten, said Archer has been knocking on the door for some time.

“His performances in Premier Cricket and for our Academy have been impressive,” Rosengarten said.

“We’ve really loved the energy his bought to the group. He bowls with real aggression and craft, and we’re excited to give him the opportunity to contribute at BBL level.”

Archer has been included in the Renegades’ 14-man squad for the trip to Adelaide, with the Final XI to be announced at the bat flip.
