Liberty Takes on North Texas, No. 26 Wichita State in Consecutive Dates

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty women's tennis team (12-6) is set for a Texas two-step in Denton, Texas, taking on host North Texas on Thursday at 4 p.m. ET/3 p.m. CT and battle No. 26 Wichita State in a neutral-site match at noon ET/11 a.m. CT.

Liberty is coming off a split weekend falling 5-2 to No. 29 Charlotte and taking down William & Mary in a narrow 4-3 triumph.

The team will be taking on a ranked opponent for the third time this season. Liberty took on No. 4 Auburn in its second match of the season, falling 7-0 and just recently met No. 29 Charlotte.

Liberty has a lot of familiarity with North Texas, coming in 4-1 all-time against the Mean Green. Thet have taken on Wichita State just one, falling 4-2 in a neutral-site match in Calif., in 2024.

The Lady Flames are currently 3-2 on a stretch of eight consecutive road matches to wrap the regular season.

Liberty owns a collective 64-33 (.660) singles record and a 29-16 (.644) doubles mark.

The team sports a 6-5 record away from Lynchburg.

The Lady Flames are 36-15 (.705) in the bottom half of the singles lineup led by Milana Tsulygina (7-2 at No. 4, 3-1 at No. 5) Candy Wai (6-1 at No. 4, 3-5 at No. 5) and Celina Joseph (5-0 at No. 5, 6-5 at No. 6).

Tsulygina (11-3) sports the best singles record on the team.

Daniella O'Neill (11-3) sports a 9-2 record in the No. 1 singles position.

Liberty's No. 1 doubles pair of Yoanna Radulova and Maria Turchetto owns an 8-5 mark. The Lady Flames are 12-3 in the No. 3 doubles position, led by Joseph and Wai with a 5-2 mark.
