Arsenal take on Inter Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday evening, looking to maintain their lead at the top of the table. Following the frustrating yet beneficial draw against Nottingham Forest at the weekend, this trip to Italy to many might be seen as a distraction.

Manchester United visit the Emirates at the weekend after they aided in Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes, having beaten Pep Guardiola’s side at Old Trafford. This game therefore stands out as an obstacle while Michael Carrick’s squad rest up and prepare for the trip to North London.

How Arteta lines up his side is very difficult to imagine because despite the weekend’s importance, securing a top two spot before the final match and keep momentum up might be more of an attraction to the Gunners’ boss.

Despite many feeling that it might be best the England international is rested this midweek ahead of the visit of Manchester United, considering he did not start at Forest, a start here would not be surprising.

Instinct says that Arteta will rotate the centre forwards as he did at Portsmouth, but perhaps we could see all three strikers feature for some part with Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz available.
