PASADENA, Calif. – The UCLA football team dropped a 28-21 decision to Nebraska in a Big Ten game at the Rose Bowl on Saturday evening.The Bruins (3-6, 3-3 Big Ten) trailed by 14 points midway through the fourth quarter, cut Nebraska's cushion to seven, 28-21, with 4:54 remaining, but were unable to complete the comeback against the visiting Huskers (7-3, 4-3 Big Ten).UCLA quarterback Nico Iamaleava completed 17 of 25 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns, totaling a team-leading 86 yards on the ground.Nebraska quarterback TJ Lateef finished Saturday night's game having completed 13 of 15 pass attempts for 205 yards. He threw three touchdown passes and had 31 net rushing yards. Lateef did not throw an incomplete pass until early in the fourth quarter, having completed each of his first 11 pass attempts.Iamaleava threw his second touchdown pass of the night when he found Anthony Frias II from nine yards out with 4:54 remaining in the fourth quarter, and the Bruins trailed 28-21.Nebraska held on to the ball from their and ran down to clock to secure the win on Saturday night.UCLA trailed Nebraska, 28-14, enter the fourth quarter after having scored a touchdown with 11:37 left to play in the third quarter. The Bruins reduced a 21-point Nebraska cushion on a four-play, 69-yard drive, culminating with a 45-yard touchdown pass from Iamaleava to Anthony Woods Jr.Nebraska led UCLA by a 14-7 margin at halftime. The Huskers took a 7-0 lead midway through the first quarter on their first offensive series. Nebraska's nine-play, 61-yard drive ended with a two-yard touchdown pass from Lateef to Jacory Barney Jr. at the eight-minute mark in the first quarter.UCLA tied the game, 7-7, as Jalen Berger punched in the ball from the 1-yard line, closing a 17-play drive for the Bruins. UCLA's touchdown tied the game at the 13:14 mark in the second quarter.Nebraska scored on their next offensive series, claiming a 14-7 cushion. Emmett Johnson caught a pass and sprinted down the sideline for the 56-yard reception with 11:01 to play before halftime.UCLA returns to action at No. 1 Ohio State on Saturday, Nov. 15. Game time at Ohio Stadium is set for 4:30 p.m. PT (7:30 p.m. ET). The Bruins' showdown at Ohio State will be nationally televised on NBC. Including next week's game at Ohio State, UCLA has three regular-season games remaining – at Ohio State (Nov. 15), at home against Washington (Nov. 22) and at USC (Nov. 29).
