Winter Olympics LIVE: Official announcement after cheating storm as Team GB on brink

Liver updates from Express Sport on the 2026 Olympics in Italy as officials hope weather improves after the cancellation of events on Tuesday

The Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics is into day 12, with athletes hoping to grab more medals on offer in a variety of sports throughout the day.

Tuesday was disrupted by bad weather, with snow causing the postponement of both the Aerials and the snowboard slopestyle competitions as announced by the BBC. Both events have since been rescheduled for today, meaning there is even more sport on offer.

Elsewhere, in the curling, both Team GB men and women face crucial games in their round robin. The Women take on USA (8.05am) and Japan (6:05pm), with the men facing USA. The men fall to a 9-5 loss against Canada on Tuesday night. Their opposition were caught up in a cheating storm last week, during a clash against Sweden.

The loss means that Team GB must win against USA to have a chance of qualifying for the semi-final. The match starts at 1:05pm.

Team GB have just completed a steal of four in the third end against USA, added to steals of one in both the first and second end, it given Britain a nice lead of 6-0.

They will look to build on that going into the fourth end, with USA retaining the hammer.

Women's Aerials result

China's Mengtao Xu has taken gold in the women's Aerials, in the event that was delayed by 24 hours following poor weather.

She won with a score of 112,90, more than 10 points ahead of silver medalist Danielle Scott. Qi Shao of China won the bronze medal.

More curling action

Like with the women, it's do or die for Team GB's men in the curling round robin.

They are now in action against USA, knowing that they need a win to give them a chance of qualifying for the semi-final.

They will then need other results to go their way, including leaders Switzerland and Canada winning their matches against Norway and Italy, respectively.

Men's snowboard slopestyle results

China's Yiming Su came out on top in the Men's Snowboard Slopestyle final.

His first run score of 82.41 was enough to beat off competition from Japan's Taiga Hasegawa who won silver and USA's Jake Canter who won bronze.

Unexpected visitor

There was an unexpected visitor during the Women's Cross Country skiing earlier, with a dog somehow making its way onto the closing stages of the course.

Images shown by the BBC show the dog running down the finishing straight.

It was eventually caught and was shown happy and enjoying a fuss from Olympics officials.

Fifth for Team GB

Team GB have picked up a historic fifth-place finish in the Cross-Country skiing team sprint free final.

British duo Andrew Musgrave and James Clugnet finished just 7.6 seconds behind the winners, Norway, with Johannes Hosflot Klaebo and Einar Hedegard taking gold.

It's the first time that Britain had finished higher than 12th in the event.

Women's Slalom latest

The first run of the Women's Slalom has been completed, with USA's Mikaela Shiffrin leading the way.

She recorded a run with a time of 47.13 seconds, 0.82 seconds ahead of Lena Duerr of Germany in second and exactly one second ahead of Sweden's Cornelia Oehlund in third.

The second run takes place at 12:30pm.

Fantastic turnaround from Team GB

That was some end to the curling for Team GB's women! The team were three shots down going into the final two ends.

They were able to get two in the ninth, but were still against it going into the final end, with USA having the Hammer.

With GB against it, Rebecca Morrison played a brilliant double take-out to leave GB lying with two shots.

With the final stone USA could only hit the guard.

It means that GB turned the game around and came out as 8-7 winners to keep their hopes of qualification alive.

Team GB men's curling team are in action this afternoon and it's a must-win affair as they face USA at 1.30pm.

Bruce Mouat's team must secure a victory and now hope for a favour from other teams who are playing today to remain in the hunt for a medal and a play-off place.

BetGoodwin are pricing up GB as heavy favourites at 2/9 with USA at 23/10 for the match. One to watch later on.

At the halfway point of their crucial match with the USA, Team GB's Women's curling team are losing 3-2.

Both teams have been trading one shot point per end, but the USA stole one point in the fifth. Team GB will however now have the hammer going into the sixth, eigth and 10th end.

Jurgen Klopp appearance

Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp made a surprise appearance at the Winter Olympics.

The German was responsible for ringing the bell for the final lap of the men's biathlon relay on Tuesday.

Klopp is said to be a big fan of the event, having grown up in Germany's Black Forest.

When asked what his favourite sport was away from football, he said: “I'm a fan of everything.

“I love all alpine skiing, I love all cross-country skiing disciplines, I love biathlon. It's all just exciting. I understand some things better from watching them for years or from doing them myself. Other things I don't understand at all."

Team GB 'mistakes' costly

Team GB's Men's curling team face a crucial clash against USA today if they wish to stay in contention for the semi-finals.

A 9-5 loss against Canada means that the team are on the brink of an exit.

Speaking to BBC Sport after the match, vice-skip Grant Haride said:

"That wasn't a game where we played well. We made too many mistakes and we're running out of time to put it right.
