He recently answered our Five Burning Questions about his good results so far and what his sports career might look like if he was not a biathlete.Biathlonworld: After 29th place twice last season, you now have four better results and qualified for your first World Cup Mass start. How does that feel?Jan Gunka: It's an amazing feeling. I'm happy with my new best results because it shows I'm making progress. I treated the mass start as a reward and had fun.BW: How much fun was it going from 31st to 13th in the Annecy Le Grand Bornand Pursuit and finishing in front of double Olympic Champion Quentin Fillon Maillet in his home stadium?JG: I had a lot of fun. It's a great feeling when you feel good on the course, shoot well, and climb on the results. It was a great day!BW: Did the crazy loud French crowd add an extra shot of adrenalin and motivation?JG: Of course, it's amazing to run on a course with so many fans and not be able to hear your own thoughts. When you see them, you know why you love this sport so much.BW: After a strong start to the season, what is next: top 10, Flower Ceremony, maybe all zeros in a four-stage race or all of the above?JG: Of course I would like all of these, but the most important thing is to see that I am making progress.Biathlonworld Bonus: If you could compete in any other sport, what would it be and why?JG: Some summer sport, maybe tennis. I really like watching how fierce the competition can be there, so I'd love to experience it. That must be really cool!Gunka has made huge steps so far this season and is well on the way to a top 10 result and maybe even bigger things in the coming seasons.Photos: IBU/Heilwagen, Nordic Focus
