Shreyanka Patil and Bharati Fulmali return to the Indian women’s cricket team for the three-match T20I series against Australia, starting in Sydney on February 15.Harmanpreet Kaur will continue to lead the team, while Smriti Mandhana remains vice-captain of the 16-member Indian squad, which was announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday.The 23-year-old Shreyanka Patil last represented India at the 2024 T20 World Cup, while Bharati Fulmali last turned up for the national team in 2019.Shreyanka Patil and Bharati Fulmali’s return are the only two changes that India have made to the T20 squad that completed a 5-0 whitewash of Sri Lanka in a five-match series late last year.Harleen Deol, who was part of the Indian team for the home series against Sri Lanka, was dropped.India will play the first match of the series at the Sydney Cricket Ground and the second match will be hosted at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. The final game of the three-match series will be held at the Adelaide Oval.India enter the series as the world No. 3 in ICC cricket rankings while hosts Australia are the top-ranked nation.The last time India met Australia in a 20-over match was at the T20 World Cup 2024, when they lost by nine runs.Overall, the two teams have squared off 35 times, with Australia dominating the head-to-head record between the sides with 26 wins.
