Kevin Yoke goes on an excellent run from his half and swings a good cross for Bertomeu in the middle, but the latter does not time his run well and fails to reach the ball.

Colaco goes for a shot from distance but cannot keep it on target. He is more than capable of finding the net from far out, but this time, his body shape was all wrong as he went for the long-ranger.

Liston Colaco comes close to scoring with a first-time shot from outside the box. He was fortunate with the ricochet after seeing his first shot blocked but reacted quickly to get his shot away.

Mohun Bagan gets a couple of corners in quick succession, but the Blasters manage to clear the danger on each occasion. In case you are wondering about the corner count, the Mariners have had nine corners compared to the Blasters’ zero -- says a lot about their lacklustre attacking display today.

Nothing much has changed from the first-half. Mohun Bagan is still dominating position, and Kerala Blasters looks like a team without a proper plan to breach the opponent’s defence.

Petratos’s shot from the left side of the box is blocked, but the ball falls kindly for Ranawade, who goes for a first-time shot. However, he fails to make a proper connection and his effort is wide.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant with a 1-0 lead against Kerala Blasters as the second-half gets underway at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.

Mohun Bagan has shown why it is the defending champion, displaying some excellent football in the first-half. It has been fluid with its passing but has not compromised on its defensive shape, thwarting the few attacking moves Kerala Blasters managed to stitch in the first half.

It scored a goal to show for its dominance after Petratos set up Maclaren, who found the net with a composed finish.

Kerala Blasters, on the other hand, has hardly been able to stitch five passes in succession. Something needs to change in their approach if they want to take something from the Salt Lake Stadium.

Robson flashes a shot across the face of the goal, which takes a touch off a Blasters defender and goes out for a corner. Petratos’ corner finds the head of Rodriguez, who does well to keep his effort on target. Sachin initially fails to hold on to the ball, and there was a brief moment where it seemed like Rodriguez would score from the rebound, but the Blasters keeper reacts quickly to eventually catch the ball.

Two minutes added at the end of the first-half!

It has been all Mohun Bagan in this first half, and the defending champion has a goal to show for its dominance. Something needs to change about the Blasters’ approach-play in the second 45 minutes. Catala’s half-time talk is going to be an important one.

Mohun Bagan almost scores a second in quick succession. The Kerala defence is caught napping, and the ball almost falls to Petratos. However, Sachin does well to take initiative and come off his line to collect the ball.

Given Mohun Bagan’s dominance, it was coming sooner rather than later. The Mariners stitch a wonderful attacking move. Petratos gets the ball inside the box and shows excellent vision to square the ball for Maclaren instead of going for the shot. Maclaren shows his quality by keeping his composure, turns and shoots the ball inside the net for the opening goal of the ISL 2025-26 season.

It was always going to be Colaco to take the freekick from that distance, and as expected, he went for the goal. It is a well-taken shot and is on target. However, the ball is straight at KBFC keeper Sachin, who palms the ball out for a corner.

Kerala Blasters stitches its first attacking move of the match on the counter. It was a 3v3 situation. Ebin gives a through ball to Bertomeu inside the box, but he could not control the weight of the pass, which allows Kaith to come off his line and collect the ball.

Thapa finds himself with time and space in the final third and shoots from an ambitious distance. However, he fails to find the target as the ball goes out for a Blasters goalkick.

Kerala Blasters has a chance to counter after clearing the ball from a Bagan corner, but Borges plays a sloppy pass, and ends up giving the ball straight to the home team.

Robson makes a darting run in the final third, cuts in and goes for a curling effort. The shot takes a deflection and goes out for a corner -- a nervy moment for the Blasters defence.

Such has been Mohun Bagan’s dominance on the ball that the Blasters have not managed to string even five passes in succession till now. In the latest move, Petratos takes a first-time shot on the turn from inside the box after receiving a pass from Robinho but scuffs his effort wide.

Mohun Bagan is trying to make full use of the pitch and stretch the backline of Kerala Blasters by involving Robson and Colaco on the flanks. But the Blasters have done a good job of maintaining their defensive shape till now.

Mohun Bagan works out a good move, which ends with Petratos taking a shot at goal from the edge of the box. The shot takes a deflection and goes out for the first corner of the match. Nothing comes from the resulting corner, however.

Mohun Bagan is enjoying early possession, which was expected, but it is mostly inside its own half. On paper, the Mariners are the clear favourites today and Kerala will need a huge effort to take something from this match.
