Kai Pearce-Paul with a lovely, lovely offload as he took the ball into contact.Brilliant football.Api Koroisau had the ball and passed wide to Jock Madden, Madden straightened and then found Pearce-Paul, who stepped so nicely off his left foot to allow him to free and hands and look for the runner on his right hip. That runner was Adam Doueihi, who powers through and scores! The kick is good and it's 10-6 to the Eels.A slight shift in momentum. He has come flying into contact there and ended up collecting the head of Heamasi Makasini.Russell was out before he hit the ground and there was a bit of a scuffle. The Eels are blowing up but it was Russell who initiated the contact and knocked himself out more than anything else. And yes, the penalty has been given and Russell, as he is escorted off the field (and out of the game, you'd hope) he is placed on report. It's the right call too - Mitch Moses isn't happy, but Russell just sprinted out of the line and, effectively, headbutted Makasini in an upright tackle.Moses is miffed. He shouldn't be.But it's the ending where the issues are for the Tigers.Hats off to Luke Laulilii, who powered through the Eels line after the hosts kick the ball on the second. The Eels were scrambling a little bit there, but once the Tigers got inside the 20, it all slowed up and went to pot.The Eels manage to gather.Adam Doueihi loses the ball now!Kelma Tuilagi made the tackle, but Mitch Moses was there too - and ensured that Doueihi knew he was there as well by screaming in his face after the Wests Tigers dropped it cold. The Tigers had a great chance there - and were given a couple of bites at it too - but there was little to get excited about from an attacking perspective to be honest. Very stodgy.Mitch Moses is the architect for the Eels, getting the ball in his hands and making beautiful things happen as a matter of course. But there was little beauty in that final move.Junior Paulo at first receiver, the short pass, the two tacklers hanging off the giant Eel, who reaches out and puts the ball down.Great try for the big man, but the Eels are looking very good here. The kick is good.Eels lead 10-0.Bailey Simonsson take a bow!Great stuff from the Eels winger. But it was great work from the Eels full stop. They move the ball to the left, battle to within a metre or so through Brian Kelly's pin-balling run as the Tigers scramble. Then they move it to the right, long passes to Sean Russell, who takes two tacklers out of the game with a remarkable step.He passes out to Bailey Simonsson, who has to pick the ball up off his bootstraps on the 10 before leaping and diving and putting down in the corner ahead of the pressure from Madden.Remarkable finish.Remarkable try.The kick from the sideline is missed and the Eels lead is 4-0.It's a hip drop - far from the most egregious one we've seen this season but it was still nasty enough to leave the Eels forward down in a heap. The Eels get the ball up field nicely and then force a goal line drop out off Bula thanks to a neat grubber kick. This capacity crowd is shrieking its support both sides of the ball as the Tigers pound on the Eels door repeatedly.A repeat set increases the pressure. But the defence stands tall. Then, a kick from Madden goes up and it's gathered by Samuela Fainu, who is wrapped up and still gets an offload away, before Api Koroisau gathers and is smothered up.A good start from both teams there! The Eels were starting to win the field position though, pushing the Tigers into the corner and deep inside their own 20.In a panic, a Tigers offload went to ground, but in amidst the broken play that followed Kitione Kautoga lifted Sunia Turuva and dumped him on his back.Dangerous tackle says referee Peter Gough.
