Express Sport brings you all the latest transfer gossip and confirmed deals with the January window open for Premier League clubs.

The January transfer window has been quiet so far for Premier League clubs, bar Manchester City's capture of in-form winger Antoine Semenyo, but there are plenty of rumours swirling that Manchester United and Liverpool could be among those to make a mid-season move soon.

United appointed Michael Carrick as their new interim manager last night and could dip into the market to improve his chances of securing Champions League football for his permanent successor. While Liverpool's chances of a top-four finish, and silverware, have been damaged by a spate of injuries that could require them to bring forward their swoop for Marc Guehi.

Everton face competition from Nottingham Forest for Youssef En Nesyri, say Sky Sports.

Both clubs are on the hunt to sign a new centre-forward in January and the Fenerbahce No.9 is on the shortlist for both.

Per the Telegraph, Malen is closing in on a move to Roma for a £1.7million (€2m) loan fee.

The deal includes a £21.6m (€25m) obligation for Malen to leave Villa permanently.

Malen wants to play more matches as a No.9 and has been frustrated by his lack of starts at Villa Park.

An update in Everton's pursuit of Youssef En-Nesyri.

Fabrizio Romano says the Toffees have submitted a loan-to-buy offer to Fenerbahce.

The Moroccan would join Everton on loan and they would then have the option to sign him permanently for £17m in the summer.

Carrick's first Man Utd signing eyed

Ruben Neves could be the first, and only, signing of the Michael Carrick interim era at Manchester United.

The Guardian report that United are considering a January move for Neves from Al-Hilal.

The former Wolves man is still only 28 and would improve the Red Devils' midfield options.

With the Portugal international out of contract in the summer, Neves could be available for a bargain fee of around £20million this month.
