Australian cricket’s most authoritative voice, Ricky Ponting, left his post in the Seven commentary box for an impromptu hospital visit on Friday afternoon after suffering a health scare.Australia’s team doctor, Leigh Golding, drove Ponting to hospital to be examined after the 47-year-old complained of feeling dizzy.Ponting had reported feeling unwell around lunchtime on day three of the first Test between Australia and the West Indies at Perth Stadium, and travelled to seek precautionary checks on his heart as a result.“Ricky Ponting is unwell and will not be providing commentary for the remainder of today’s coverage,” a Seven spokesperson said.
