Hwang Yu-jeong and Wenluibo are defeated in the final round

The duo of Jang Woo-jin (Sea) and Cho Dae-sung (Hwaseong City Corporation), the "Korean men's table tennis sign," were thrilled to win their first World Table Tennis (WTT) series of the new year.

Jang Woo-jin and Cho Dae-sung won the WTT star contender Doha 2026 men's doubles final in Doha, Qatar, on the 18th (5-111 11-8 11-6 5-11-9) after a full game match against China's Hwang Yu-jeong and Wenluibo.

It is the first time in about three years and seven months that the two players have won the WTT competition by combining their hips since Contender Zagreb in June 2022. Star contenders are the second highest-rated tournament after Grand Smash and Champions in the WTT series, with a total prize money of $300,000.

Jang Woo-jin and Cho Dae-sung produced an extraordinary 3-2 victory over the Chinese group, which was collaborated by world No. 2 Lin Zedong and world No. 7 Liang Jing-kun, in the first round of the finals of this tournament. The two players, who once again crossed the Great Wall in the final, raised expectations for the rest of the season.
