Men’s Track Competes at Scarlet and White Invite

BOSTON, Mass. – The Saint Joseph's men's track and field team finished action at the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invite on Saturday inside the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.

TRACK EVENTS

The Hawks opened the meet in the 5000m, highlighted by a pair of top-five finishes and multiple personal bests. Gavin Mogck led the way with a third-place finish and a personal-best time of 14:30.61. Jay Shanahan followed closely in fifth, also recording a personal best in 14:33.30. Anthony Gargani placed eighth in 14:41.85, while Andrea Botteon finished in 14:46.98 and Ian Romea ran a personal-best 14:49.37.

In the 60m dash prelims, Jerael Moore led the Hawks with a time of 7.19 to place 22nd. Paride Iacono followed in 37th with a time of 7.40.

In the 200m, Ben Henry delivered one of the top performances of the day for Saint Joseph's, finishing second overall with a time of 21.59. Logan Maloney placed 16th in 22.27, while Paride Iacono finished 21st in 22.44 and Jerael Moore finished with a personal best for 22nd with a time of 22.47. Layton Holt finished in 23.36, followed by James Mackey in 23.44 to round out the event for the Hawks.

The 400m saw Henry continue his strong day with a third-place finish in 48.44. Logan Maloney added a personal-best performance, finishing eighth in 48.92. Eli Turner placed 23rd in 50.82, with James Mackey clocking 51.42 and Layton Holt finishing in 51.59.

Cristian Cruz paced the Hawks in the 500m with a seventh-place finish in 1:04.78. Luke Noss followed closely in eighth at 1:04.90, while Brody Wyatt recorded a personal-best time of 1:07.77 to place 15th.

In the 800m, Alex Wockenfuss led with a seventh-place finish and with a personal best of 1:51.60. Regent Walden placed 15th with a time of 1:54.16, followed by Elijah Smith in 16th at 1:54.25 and Chris Manzo in 19th at 1:54.62. Tommy Silvester finished 43rd in 1:59.84.

Will Rau led the Hawks in the 1000m, finishing seventh overall with a time of 2:27.75. Tom Barausky placed 12th in 2:29.56, just ahead of Jackson Kane in 13th at 2:29.64. Immanuel Rota-Talarico finished 22nd with a time of 2:31.67 while Anton Bovone finished in 2:34.59 and Matthew Carnes followed in 2:34.92 to round out the event.

Rau placed 27th in the Mile with a time of 4:12.46. Christian Napoli recorded a personal-best time of 4:15.22 to place 35th, with Matt Hoffman finishing in 4:16.72, followed by Josh Forrest at 4:16.96 and Elijah Stoudt in 4:31.46.

Michael Glavin led the way in the 3000m with an eighth-place finish in 8:11.50. Ryan Cichocki placed 16th with a time of 8:21.71, followed by Noah Deckert in 18th at 8:22.50. Brendan Hefferan finished 25th in 8:28.30, while Elijah Stoudt placed 39th with a time of 8:49.58.

Will Rau led the Hawks in the 1500m, placing 26th in 3:54.27. Hoffman, Napoli, and Forrest followed with times of 3:58.19, 3:58.98, and 3:59.43, and Elijah Stoudt finished 55th in 4:11.95.

The Hawks will return next week, staying in Philadelphia to take part in the Penn Invite on Friday, January 30.
