Manchester United have officially recalled Elyh Harrison from his loan spell.

Elyh Harrison is the latest Manchester United youngster to be recalled, and quite a list is building up.

The England youth international goalkeeper’s return to Manchester United was confirmed.

Harrison had been on loan at League One side Shrewsbury Town, who said in a statement: “We thank him for his efforts in our colours. Best of luck for the rest of your career, Elyh!”

The League One side followed this up by signing another goalkeeper on loan, Brentford youngster Matt Cox.

Is the criticism unfair? Or should Ineos be looking to replace Wilcox with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer or a more experienced sporting director?

How Elyh Harrison fared on loan

Elyh Harrison saw opportunities for Shrewsbury Town at the start of the season, where he played eight games before the end of September.

Harrison did not feature for the rest of 2025, and BBC Sport reported the goalkeeper would be recalled at the start of January.

The recall was delayed for Harrison to play in the FA Cup for Shrewsbury against Wolves, but the game did not go well with his side beaten 6-1.

Now he has been recalled, Manchester United will likely seek to arrange another loan move where Harrison can play regularly.

This is not always an easy task a high level for goalkeepers mid-season, and the alternative will be that Harrison sticks around and plays under-21 football.
