Tennis, WTA Finals 2025: Jessica Pegula beats Jasmine Paolini but semi

Jessica Pegula has done all she can to qualify for the semi-finals of the 2025 WTA Finals.

The USA women’s tennis world No. 5 added a second victory in her last round robin match against Jasmine Paolini, defeating the Olympic doubles champion 6-2, 6-3 on Thursday (6 November).

Despite her win, Pegula is not yet assured of her place in the final four. That will depend on the final group match between world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka and third seed Coco Gauff.

A Sabalenka win sends her and Pegula into the semi-finals from the Stefanie Graf Group, but should Gauff win in three sets on Thursday, the order of the top three will come down to the percentage of games won.
